Welcome to volunteer services at South County Hospital! Our nearly 300 volunteers, who are all ages and come from a variety of backgrounds, are a vital part of the South County Hospital family. We are honored and proud to have such a dynamic group of people donate their valuable time. Our volunteers are committed to patient centered care by providing support and assistance to patients, staff, and visitors.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Attend a one-hour informational session, held at 3:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month in the Potter Conference Center at South County Hospital.
  • Submit an application with references
  • Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Submit two tuberculosis tests
  • Provide an updated immunization record and complete a mandatory hospital health screening
  • Attend mandatory hospital-wide orientation
  • Commit to a minimum of two to four hours each week for at least 100 hours 
  • If you are under age 18, submit a signed permission slip.
  • Adhere to uniform and dress code policy
  • Participate in a criminal background check
